Aleksandar Todorović is born in Belgrade, where he graduated at the Electro-technical Faculty in Belgrade. He worked at the Institute Mihailo Pupin for three years and then moved to Belgrade Broadcasting (RTB), where he held at various positions: vice technical director, vice manager of TV production, general editor, Development manager RTB... Between 1988 and 1993 he occupied position of the Executive manager of Yugoslav Radio TV (JRT). Parallel with the activities in the state radio and television, he spent 12 years as the full time professor at the Drama Faculty, Art Academy, Belgrade. On an invitation by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), he moved to Switzerland, in 1993, to help founding and manage the work of the International Academy for Broadcasting (IAB). On his return to Yugoslavia, in December 2001, he became president of the Board of Directors in “Kompani”, lecturer at the postgraduate studies at the Art Academy, as well as RTS’ General director’s councillor.
Professor Todorović has recorded an active international participation in the field of broadcasting. He was vice president in the 11 International Communication Union (ITU) and President of the technical board in European Broadcasting Union (EBU). At the moment, he is a member of IBC and of the Council of Department of Film and TV Studies in Oklahoma. As a guest professor he lectured in Loyola University in New Orleans, Oklahoma University in Norman, Maribor University, as well as at the American College, Laisenn.
In 1982 Aleksandar Todorović became Fellow, and in 2004 g. SMPTE’s (Society of Motion Pictures and Television Engineers) Life Fellow. In 1985 he is awarded by the Yugoslav Workmen Medal (Jugoslovenski orden rada). In 1986 he received IBC Award for personal contribution to the development and standardization of digital magnetoscops. In 1996, he became holder of an honorary degree at the Shiller University. An award for the direction of tourist film was given to him in 199 at the international festival MEFEST.
Along with the numerous scientific papers published in scientific journals and daily press, Professor Todorović is author and co-author of several books on television technology published in Belgrade, London, and Madrid. He is fluent in English, French, Italian, and Russian.
