Teaching staff - Slobodan Jauković
I was born in Zagreb on 21.02.1947. I went to primary school in Sarajevo and Mostar, and completed high school in Mostar. I received MA at the Electrotecnical Faculty, University of Belgrade, in 1975, after which I attended doctoral studies at MIT, USA, 1978-79.
In 1999, I received another MA at the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Philosophy, Belgrade, with an MA thesis: »Nužnost umetnosti – na putu Hajdegerovog promišljanja suštine umetnosti« (»Necessity of Art: Heidegger on the Essence of Art«). At the same time, in 2005, I defended doctoral thesis »Hajdegerov projekat prevladavanja filozofije kroz umetnost« (»Heidegger's Project of Overcoming Philosophy Through Art«)

In the period 1998-2005, I actively participated in the project Filozofija između Istoka i Zapada (Philosophy Between East and West), that took place in SANU (Serbian Academy for Sciences and Arts) and was coordinated by academic Mihaila Đurića. I participated with two lectures forthcoming in the SANU journal
Several of my popular essays are published in »Politika« and »NIN«.
I participated in the work of the summer school Letnje filozofske škole in Zaječar, Susreti studenata filozofije in Smederevska Palanka, in Filozofski susreti in Sremski Karlovci, as well as in Javne tribine in “Studentski grad” and UKS.
Three of my papers were read on radio Belrgade's III Channel.
I am a member of the Board of Executors of Estetičko društvo Srbije (Aesthetical Society of Serbia), as well as of the Board of Directors in the Institut za filozofiju i društvenu teoriju (Institute of Philosophy and Social Theory) in Belgrade.
In the end, in 2005 and at the beginning of 2006, I was at the study visit in Freiberg, Germany.
Renowned publisher “Zoran Stojanović” accepted to publish my translation of. Heidegger: Beiträge zur Philosophie, forthcoming in spring 2007.
I am fluent in English and German.
